One of Batman's Most Iconic Comic Covers Is Turning Into a Massive LEGO Set

LEGO is transforming Jock's iconic 2011 Detective Comics number 880 Joker cover into a detailed 1,849-piece wall art set launching in January 2027.

LEGO is adapting one of the most famous pieces of modern DC comic book art into a brick-built wall display. Game Rant reports that the striking Detective Comics number 880 Joker cover, originally illustrated by Mark Jock Simpson in 2011 during the era when Dick Grayson wore the cowl, is officially joining the LEGO lineup. Set number 67012 is aimed squarely at adult collectors, featuring 1,849 pieces and carrying a 169.99 dollar price tag when it launches in January 2027.

The new wall art piece translates Jock's famous illustration, which features a face made entirely of smaller bats, into a dimensional build with protruding facial features and a stark black, white, and red color palette. LEGO is also rolling out two smaller Batmobile sets alongside the wall art, featuring vehicles from Batman Returns and Batman Arkham Knight. These physical vehicle kits include digital bonuses for TT Games' 2026 title, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, offering players in-game unlocks like the secret Golden Red Brick.

This release highlights how physical collectibles and digital gaming ecosystems continue to overlap for modern players. Pre-orders are already live on the official LEGO site ahead of the January product wave, giving collectors plenty of time to clear shelf space for one of the most distinct comic book adaptations the company has produced yet.
