Old School RuneScape Lays Out a 2026 Roadmap Featuring a Quest Finale That Is Over Two Decades in the Making

Jagex revealed the Old School RuneScape 2026 roadmap, highlighted by a Grandmaster quest concluding a 2004 storyline, a new raid, seasonal leagues, and updates to the Sailing skill.

Jagex has officially pulled back the curtain on the 2026 content roadmap for Old School RuneScape following its recent Winter Summit. Fresh off celebrating its 25th anniversary, the enduring MMORPG continues to defy the usual lifecycle of online games by serving up massive updates for its cross-platform community spanning PC and mobile. The upcoming slate is packed with competitive events, major expansions, and long-awaited milestones that show why the game remains a staple for modern players.

Kicking things off early in the year, Jagex is running Deadman: Annihilation from January 30 through February 21, bringing high-intensity open-world PvP alongside new sigils, breaches, and earnable cosmetics. April will see the return of the fan-favorite seasonal mode with Leagues VI: Demonic Pacts, featuring reimagined combat masteries and accelerated XP gains. Meanwhile, Sailing, which stands as the game's first entirely new skill since the Old School fork, is getting a steady rollout of new quests throughout the year to keep explorers busy.

The real headline for veteran players arrives this summer with the Blood Moon Rises update. This Grandmaster-tier quest will finally conclude a narrative arc that originally kicked off back in 2004, making the storyline old enough to legally drink. Alongside that piece of gaming history, the community can look forward to The Fractured Archive, marking the game's first new raid in four years. As originally reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, players can already log into the game to vote on these upcoming additions through the in-game polling system, ensuring the community stays firmly in the driver seat.
