Nvidia ACE is bringing natural AI chat to creature collector Aniimo

Nvidia is bringing its ACE generative AI technology to the creature-collecting RPG Aniimo in early 2027, allowing players to chat naturally with their digital companions at their home base.

As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, Nvidia is expanding the footprint of its ACE technology by bringing the generative AI system to the upcoming creature-collecting open-world RPG Aniimo. Developed by Pawprint Studio, the game leans into the familiar creature-catching formula popularized by titles like Palworld, but adds a conversational twist slated for early next year. Nvidia senior product marketing manager Ike Nnoli revealed that players will be able to speak naturally to their digital companions on RTX GPUs, using dialogue to teach them skills like crafting and mining while uncovering distinct personalities.

Unlike the tactical battle companions seen in PUBG: Battlegrounds, the AI integration in Aniimo is designed to function more like an intelligent virtual pet. Pawprint Studio is reining in the technology by restricting the chat features to the player home base, where the creatures handle resource gathering and respond through specific actions and emojis rather than fully voiced dialogue. This sandbox boundary helps sidestep some of the unpredictable jailbreaking and reward manipulation issues that have plagued other AI-driven NPC integrations in recent open-world releases.

For players navigating an era where generative tools increasingly intersect with digital economies and virtual ownership, Aniimo represents a fascinating test case for everyday companion mechanics. Restricting the AI to a domestic home base keeps the scope manageable and lowers the risk of game-breaking exploits. As we look toward its early 2027 release window, the success of this system will likely hinge on whether these digital partners feel genuinely engaging or just like another novelty layer on top of a standard crafting loop.
