Cult comedy favorites Matthew Johnson and Jay McCarrol are finally making the jump to the big screen. According to IGN South Africa, the official teaser trailer for Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie has just dropped, giving fans a first look at the chaotic feature film continuation of their beloved indie series. The story kicks off when a simple plan to book a legendary gig at the Rivoli goes completely sideways, accidentally launching Matt and Jay backward in time to the year 2008.
For anyone who has followed the duo through their various guerrilla filmmaking escapades over the years, this theatrical outing looks to capture that same unpredictable, deadpan energy. Johnson wrote and directed the project alongside McCarrol, ensuring that the feature length adaptation stays true to the specific brand of humor that built their dedicated online following.
The timing is solid for comedy fans looking for something a bit different on the release calendar. Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie is currently slated to open in theaters on February 13, 2026. Whether you are a longtime follower of their streaming history or just discovering the chaos for the first time, this time traveling disaster is shaping up to be a wild ride.
