Team Ninja's Nioh 3 is launching soon with open world exploration, dual combat styles, and region-based progression. Here is everything you need to know about release times, preloads, and demo progress carryover across PC and PS5.
Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo are gearing up for the launch of Nioh 3, and players across PC and PlayStation 5 are preparing for the grueling challenge ahead. According to a detailed breakdown from Polygon, the PC version drops on Friday, February 6 at 12 a.m. EST, while PS5 players can jump in at midnight local time, with North American consoles unlocking uniformly at midnight EST. If you have already secured a digital copy on PlayStation, you can pre-load the 79GB file right now, though PC players will have to wait for launch day to start downloading. Fortunately, progress from the recently praised demo carries over to the full game on all platforms, letting you keep your hard-earned gains.
This entry shakes up the classic Soulslike formula by introducing structural changes to the map design. Nioh 3 moves into open world territory for the first time in the series, split across four distinct regions that unlock as you progress through the story. Reviewers have already noted that the first region alone easily demands dozens of hours if you are tackling every side objective and hunting down every piece of gear. Dual combat stances let you fluidly switch between samurai and ninja styles on the fly, adding fresh layers of tactical depth to the punishing boss fights and respawning threats that define the franchise.
For players who spent the last week testing their mettle in the demo, the full release offers a massive playground to explore alongside Tokugawa Takechiyo. Whether you are playing on a high-end rig or sitting back on your console, make sure your storage drives are cleared out and your schedules are open. Check out the complete timezone schedule and platform details over at Polygon to make sure you are ready the second the servers go live.
