Nintendo Music expands beyond mobile devices to PC browsers, tablets, and car screens, alongside a massive soundtrack drop from Mario Kart World for Switch Online subscribers.
Nintendo Music is finally breaking out of its mobile app prison. According to a report by Fran Ruiz at Eurogamer, the dedicated gaming soundtrack streaming service is now accessible via PC internet browsers, tablets, and modern car touch screens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Alongside this multi-platform expansion, Nintendo has rolled out quality-of-life updates like custom playlist creation, sharing tools, and a My Mix feature that curates tracks based on your listening habits.
Timing this platform rollout for maximum impact, Nintendo dropped a massive four hours and thirteen minutes of music from Mario Kart World onto the service, with Free Roam tracks promised for a later date. The library now covers more than 130 titles from across Nintendo history, serving up serious nostalgia alongside fresh beats for your daily commute.
There is still a catch for anyone not paying into the ecosystem. Access to the full streaming library requires an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. If you are not subscribed, you can browse the tracklists, but actual playback remains locked behind the paywall. While Nintendo has occasionally tossed partial OSTs onto public platforms like Spotify to hype up movie releases, this dedicated service remains firmly tied to their subscription model.
