Nintendo is expanding its Zelda Notes companion app with a playable mobile ocarina, stat tracking, and hint features to accompany the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake.
Nintendo is giving its Zelda Notes companion app a major upgrade alongside the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Originally built for recent open-world entries on the Switch 2, the app is evolving into a comprehensive second screen experience. During a recent Zelda centric Direct, Nintendo confirmed the app will now feature a detailed daily stat tracker, a massive trivia quiz with over two thousand questions, and hint images designed to help players uncover hidden in-game quests.
One of the standout additions is a fully playable ocarina built right into your mobile device. Players will be able to compose their own musical scores on their phones and share them with friends using QR codes. Alongside the app updates, Nintendo revealed new young Link and young Zelda amiibo figures that unlock exclusive in-game items, continuing the studio's long running tradition of physical digital integration for collectors and core fans.
While the release window for the Ocarina of Time remake places it near the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, Nintendo is clearly unfazed by the competition given the distinct platform audiences. As reported by IGN South Africa, all of the new app features are entirely optional, giving players the freedom to engage with the companion tools as much or as little as they want while revisiting a classic adventure.
