Nintendo has revealed updated designs for Saria, Darunia, and Princess Ruto in the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, highlighting new character models, voice acting, and world updates ahead of its November launch.
Nintendo has provided a fresh look at three key allies from the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, showing off updated designs for Saria, Darunia, and Princess Ruto. Shared via official UK social media channels by Game Rant, the preview highlights the visual upgrades made possible by the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, featuring more detailed textures, revised outfits like Saria's forest-gathered materials and Darunia's white loincloth, and expressive new facial animations. Alongside these redesigned companions, the remake introduces full voice acting for the main story, adding a new layer of immersion to these classic characters.
Beyond character redesigns, the Switch 2 exclusive is bringing notable structural updates to the classic version of Hyrule. Players can expect an expanded Castle Town to explore, potential layout changes in the Ice Cavern, and modern platform additions like the Trails of Time tapestry and integration with Zelda Notes through the Nintendo Switch Online app. Fan speculation is also running high regarding the voice cast, with eagle-eared players noticing that Ganondorf sounds remarkably like Matt Mercer, though Nintendo has yet to officially confirm the casting.
As the most anticipated Nintendo release of the year, this ambitious remake bridges the gap between nostalgia and modern hardware expectations. The title arrives exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, setting up a major holiday season for players across the ecosystem. While we await official word on how adult Princess Ruto and other major plot points will translate to the new hardware, these character previews confirm that Nintendo is treating this foundational adventure with serious care.
