Nicolas Cage Faces Real World Crisis in Malibu While Spider-Noir Celebrates Emmy Wins

Actor Nicolas Cage is dealing with a massive Malibu sinkhole threatening his coastal home while simultaneously celebrating Emmy wins for his recently canceled Prime Video series Spider-Noir.
Hollywood icon Nicolas Cage is dealing with a dramatic real world situation after a massive sinkhole opened up in Malibu, threatening the actor's ten million dollar coastal property. Heavy rainfall and relentless ocean waves triggered the thirty foot wide collapse, which took out the driveway and forced emergency services to respond to a nearby gas leak. City officials have deemed several homes on the street unsafe for entry, cutting off access to the area while crews work to secure the site. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported from the incident.
The property damage comes right on the heels of some bittersweet news for Cage regarding his streaming career. Prime Video recently decided against renewing his live action series Spider-Noir for a second season following a sharp drop in viewership after launch, though the pop art inspired show still managed to secure five awards at the Creative Arts Emmys. Cage recently told Deadline that he views the single season run as a complete artistic success, stating that it achieved everything he wanted before closing the book.
For a star known just as much for his eccentric career choices as his blockbuster hits, watching his latest streaming project wrap up while his actual house hangs precariously over the ocean makes for quite the week. Whether you are following his genre bending television work or watching the dramatic local news coverage unfold from your setup, it is a reminder that even Hollywood royalty cannot escape unexpected disruptions. We are just glad everyone is safe, and here is hoping the Malibu property stabilization goes smoother than the actor's past real estate adventures.
