An upcoming Steam action RPG titled Forsaken Realms: Vahrin's Call launches on July 27, 2026, offering a blend of Fable and Crimson Desert mechanics with expansive zones, hand-crafted dungeons, and a rich fantasy narrative.
Finding a fantasy RPG that captures the right balance of action and exploration can be tough, especially while waiting out long development cycles for massive AAA franchises. Steam is about to get a fresh option that aims to bridge that gap. According to a report by Game Rant, the upcoming action RPG Forsaken Realms: Vahrin's Call is scheduled to launch later this month on July 27, 2026. The title is drawing early comparisons to stylistic heavyweights like Fable and Crimson Desert for its blend of gritty fantasy storytelling and open-ended exploration.
Set in a war-torn world on the brink of collapse, the game puts players in the boots of a mercenary trying to protect the Vale of Vahrin from a terrifying new threat. Vahrin's Call leans into traditional action RPG mechanics while structuring its world around expansive open zones rather than one massive seamless map, drawing comparisons to games like Avowed. These regions are packed with hand-crafted dungeons, hidden loot, environmental puzzles, and complex factions, offering a rich narrative experience that spans multiple continents.
For players who treat RPGs as deep, immersive worlds to lose themselves in between major platform drops, this release offers a compelling standalone journey. It gives the lore and scale of a long-running franchise without requiring a massive multi-game commitment. As digital storefronts continue to be the primary playground for discovering inventive mid-tier projects that fill the gaps between blockbuster releases, Vahrin's Call looks like a title worth watching for fans of classic fantasy action.
