New Steam Open-World Game Blends Monster Hunter Action With Palworld Taming

Monster Fantasy is an upcoming Steam open-world game that combines Monster Hunter boss fights with Palworld creature-taming and cozy life-sim features.
As reported by GameRant, a new open-world title called Monster Fantasy is currently turning heads on Steam by mashing together the boss-battling scale of Monster Hunter with the creature-taming mechanics that made Palworld a massive hit. The game drops players into a sprawling map populated by fifty distinct, giant beasts. Combat relies on class-based action RPG systems, letting players choose from roles like Warrior, Mage, Archer, and Martial Artist before taking down targets to harvest vital crafting materials.
Once a beast is thoroughly beaten in combat, players can use capture tools clearly inspired by Palworld spheres to tame the creature. These captured monsters double as land or flying mounts, bridging the gap between high-stakes combat and convenient exploration. When players are not hunting down oversized bosses, they can dive into a robust suite of cozy life-sim activities, including fishing, mining, farming, and cooking up combat buffs.
While the project is still early in development with a tentative launch window of 2027, the developers recently rolled out a limited playtest on Steam for eager fans to test out the core loop. Though rough around the edges, the initial build gives the community a clear look at how this ambitious genre cross-pollination will shape up on PC before a wider release.
