Retailer listings for the Pokemon Pokopia expansion pass reveal new artwork teasing underwater building mechanics, new Pokemon appearances like Snubbull and Peakychu, and fresh customization options for in-game residents ahead of the August DLC release.
Fresh retailer listings and recent promotional artwork are offering a closer look at what is coming to Pokemon Pokopia later this year. As reported by Game Rant, the upcoming expansion pass for the Nintendo Switch 2 title is slated to kick off in August with the release of the Bubbly Basin update. This first wave introduces the Dive ability for Ditto, which opens up entirely new gameplay by letting players construct and design locations directly underwater.
Beyond the underwater mechanics, the newly surfaced retail artwork has sparked plenty of community speculation regarding deeper character customization. The promotional images feature familiar faces like Snubbull and Peakychu sporting distinct accessories, including a yellow bow tie and a set of white wings paired with a hat. While Snubbull has not yet been officially confirmed for the roster, the presence of these styled outfits strongly hints that players will soon be able to dress up their in-game Pokemon companions.
Costumed variants and avatar customization have long been staples of the broader franchise, from mobile events to mainline titles, so expanding that philosophy into Pokopia makes perfect sense for player engagement. With part one arriving in August, followed by subsequent expansion drops rolling out through late 2026 and into 2027, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are setting up a steady content pipeline. Players can already purchase the expansion pass ahead of time while keeping an eye out for official confirmations on the remaining unannounced content.
