Nintendo announced two new Ocarina of Time remake amiibo figures that unlock retro polygon masks in the upcoming game, alongside a limited edition Zelda themed Switch 2 console.
During the recent Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct, Game Rant reported that Nintendo showcased a deep dive into the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake alongside two brand-new physical collectibles. The upcoming figurines feature Young Link reaching for Navi and Young Zelda holding the iconic ocarina, capturing key moments from the classic adventure in updated detail. Fans tracking the hardware side of the franchise also got a look at a limited edition blue and gold Nintendo Switch 2 console and a matching Pro Controller sporting the classic Triforce motif.
While the remake is scheduled to launch on November 5, 2026, these new figures will follow a bit later in 2027. When scanned into the game, the figures unlock exclusive cosmetic masks that give Link and Zelda their original low poly looks from the Nintendo 64 era. It is a neat nod to series history that bridges the gap between old-school nostalgia and modern hardware.
Nintendo continues to lean heavily into physical figures as tangible companions to digital releases. Similar to recent tie-in drops for Splatoon and Mario Galaxy ports, these collectibles tap into modern digital ownership and hardware trends where players love displaying physical pieces of their favorite virtual worlds. Pricing is expected to sit around the standard twenty-dollar mark once pre-orders officially go live.
