New Fallout New Vegas Mod Lets You Outsource Fetch Quests to Faction Cronies

A new Fallout New Vegas mod called U_DO_IT - Faction Quest Assigner lets players delegate fetch quests and odd jobs to faction NPCs, adding a new layer of delegation and roleplay to the classic RPG.

Fallout New Vegas has always forced players to do the heavy lifting. Dealing with the NCR or Legion usually means running endless errands to stay out of the crosshairs. A new project by modder SkullzyRS aims to change that dynamic entirely by letting players delegate the grunt work. The mod, titled U_DO_IT - Faction Quest Assigner, lets you send faction followers out on automated odd jobs while you kick back in the Mojave.

The system gives players a command device to dispatch NPCs from eight different factions on offscreen tasks ranging from basic scavenging to sabotage and assassinations. You select a difficulty tier that determines the time investment, potential payout, and risk of failure. Higher tiers yield better caps, gear, and faction reputation, but the mod introduces a three-day in-game cooldown to prevent players from easily gaming the system and maxing out their reputation overnight.

Quest editing in classic Bethesda and Obsidian engines has historically been a notoriously difficult undertaking, which makes this release a compelling proof of concept for the community. For players deep into a late-game playthrough who want the wasteland to feel active while waiting for the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, outsourcing fetch quests offers a clever roleplaying angle. As reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, you can check out the details and follow the modder's progress on Nexus Mods.
