New Dark Fantasy SRPG Entropy Hits Steam Early Access to Strong 94% Approval

Indie studio Lovely Hellplace has launched its tactical dark fantasy RPG Entropy into Steam Early Access, capturing a 94 percent positive approval rating from players for its strategic combat and retro style.

Dark fantasy and tactical role-playing games always find a dedicated audience, but indie developer Lovely Hellplace is turning heads with their latest project. Reported by Game Rant, their new tactical RPG Entropy has launched into Steam Early Access and immediately pulled in a 94 percent positive review score from early adopters. Shifting away from the first-person perspective of their previous work Dread Delusion, the studio has built a party-based tactical adventure that leans heavily into classic genre inspirations while keeping its signature unsettling aesthetic.

Set in a dying world where isolated human settlements fight off encroaching monsters, the game kicks off during a demonic attack on a theater troupe. Players manage a party of up to six characters, recruit mercenaries, and dive deep into strategic combat and stat management. The current early access build features the entire first act across the Gloaming Isles, giving players roughly a quarter of the final game to explore through towns, dungeons, and choice-driven quests.

Beyond the tactical depth, the game's retro 3D art style delivers a distinct visual identity while keeping hardware demands remarkably low. Running on nearly ancient PC components, it is an accessible option for players on budget rigs or handheld gaming setups. Lovely Hellplace plans to keep the title in early access through the second half of 2027 as they roll out the remaining acts, offering an affordable entry price that will scale up as development progresses toward version 1.0.
