Leaked casting call details for Assassin's Creed Hexe have revealed a dark character roster, a gritty 16th-century German setting, and potential plot details involving witch trials.
Recent casting call leaks reported by Game Rant have shed light on the characters and narrative structure of Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Hexe. Moving away from the massive open world RPG formulas of recent franchise entries, this installment trades sweeping historical tours for a much darker, more focused narrative set during the 16th century witch trials in Germany. Reports indicate the story will center on a protagonist provisionally named Petra, a strong willed young woman navigating a society defined by religious fear and severe persecution.
The leaked character details outline a grim family and social dynamic surrounding the protagonist. Petra's father is reportedly the executioner of Neustadt, while her mother works as a midwife. Additional character descriptions point to a complex network of allies and antagonists, including a former village healer named Mother Gertrud who offers Petra refuge from a faction known as the Order of the Lamb. Other figures include wealthy manipulators, ambitious rivals, and a potential mentor figure named Wolfgang.
The leaks also suggest the game will feature a modern day framing device through a character named Anna. While Ubisoft has kept official details under wraps since the initial reveal, these production documents provide a clearer picture of how the studio plans to ground its historical horror setting. As always, players should treat these leaked details with caution until Ubisoft shares official gameplay and narrative trailers.
For players who have followed the series through its evolution across platforms and digital hubs, Hexe represents a striking tonal shift. Shifting the focus from sprawling empire building to intimate historical dread could give the long running franchise the fresh creative angle it needs. We will keep an eye on how Ubisoft shapes this darker chapter as more official information emerges.
