A new art book for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man reveals fresh artwork of Doctor Strange, giving fans a deeper look at the Disney Plus series.
Marvel Animation fans have plenty to look forward to as Abrams Books prepares to release The Art of Marvel Animation's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man by author Ramin Zahed. Originally reported by Polygon, the upcoming companion book offers a deep dive into the production of the hit Disney Plus series. Most excitingly for comic book enthusiasts, the art book reveals brand-new concept and final production artwork for Doctor Strange, confirming his presence in the show's distinct visual universe.
When the series premiered in January 2025, showrunner Jeff Trammell managed to sidestep the usual fatigue surrounding Peter Parker origin stories by shifting the focus onto the wider supporting cast and community around him. That narrative choice turned the web-slinger into a truly localized hero, backed by a striking 3D cel-shaded art style that pays direct homage to classic comic books. The upcoming art book highlights how that visual identity came together, giving creators and fans a chance to appreciate the meticulous design work behind characters like Doctor Strange.
Companion art books have become essential collector pieces for modern animation fans, serving as physical artifacts for shows that live primarily in our streaming queues. As streaming platforms continue to shape how we consume major franchise content, physical books like this give communities a tangible way to celebrate their favorite series.
