Netmarble has launched The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, a free-to-play open-world anime RPG featuring real-time combat, exploration, and gacha mechanics across multiple platforms.
Netmarble is back with another major anime adaptation, bringing The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin to Steam as a free-to-play open-world experience. Originally spotted in a breakdown by Rock Paper Shotgun, the game leans heavily into classic fantasy aesthetics with sweeping Disney-style towers, soaring windmills, and even a transformable porcine mount that doubles as a buzzard. It is a vibrant, sprawling playground that hits all the expected open-world checkmarks, complete with fishing, cooking, and nostalgic minecart sections that nod to platforming classics.
Beneath the breezy presentation and real-time tag-team combat system, players will find a familiar live-service economy. The title relies on gacha mechanics for character acquisition, a monetization model that continues to divide the community between dedicated collectors and cautious skeptics. Even if randomized reward loops require a watchful eye on spending habits, the crossover appeal of featuring both original heroes and timeline-spanning fan favorites makes it a notable addition to the current free-to-play landscape across PC, mobile, and console platforms.
For those looking for a casual weekend distraction, the sheer novelty of exploring high fantasy environments and testing out movement mechanics provides a solid draw. Whether you are deeply invested in the source material or just want to glide off a massive castle without worrying about fall damage, it offers an accessible entry point. You can check out the details and add it to your library directly through Steam.
