Netflix is expanding the One Piece franchise with a Lego special, an upcoming anime remake from WIT Studio, and a new management sim from Kairosoft.
As reported by Polygon, the One Piece universe is expanding across screens with an unexpected brick-based adaptation on the horizon. Netflix just dropped a trailer for a two-part Lego One Piece special arriving on September 29, which retells the early arcs of the live-action series using the same voice cast. Framed as an embellished retelling by Usopp, the special is designed to get audiences up to speed before the third season of the live-action adaptation hits screens next year.
Beyond the Lego crossover, the franchise pipeline is packed for cross-platform fans and anime enthusiasts alike. WIT Studio is currently working on The One Piece, a fresh anime remake set to premiere in February 2027 that promises a more manga-accurate pace without the traditional filler arcs. Meanwhile, Toei Animation is shifting its long-running weekly schedule to a seasonal production model capped at 26 episodes per year, ensuring higher fidelity for the remaining chapters of Eiichiro Oda's epic.
Gamers also have a new management sim to look forward to with the upcoming launch of One Piece Grand Gourmet. Developed by Kairosoft, the studio behind mobile classics like Game Dev Story, the title arrives on October 23 for mobile devices, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Switch 2. With the original manga passing chapter 1190 and heading toward its eventual conclusion, these transmedia projects ensure that the Straw Hat crew will remain a dominant fixture in gaming and streaming culture for years to come.
