Mouthwashing Developer Returns With Carcass Clad, a Brutal Co-Op Tank Horror Game

Wrong Organ is following up Mouthwashing with Carcass Clad, a punishing three-player co-op tank horror game that prioritizes intense mechanical complexity and chaotic team communication over broad accessibility.
Wrong Organ, the studio behind the psychological indie hit Mouthwashing, is trading narrative walking sims for intense cooperative mechanical horror in their upcoming title, Carcass Clad. Set in a war-torn Soviet city populated by tanks covered in Frankensteined cattle corpses, the game challenges three players to crew a single, claustrophobic vehicle where survival depends entirely on chaotic communication and precise teamwork. Gameplay lead Jeffrey Tomec noted that while their previous game was hard in terms of narrative, Carcass Clad is punishing in its gameplay, explicitly rejecting broad market appeal with the design philosophy that a game for everyone is a game for no one.
During a hands-on demo at Gamescom covered by Rock Paper Shotgun, players split responsibilities across three distinct roles: Gunner, Commander, and Driver. Each station demands intense multi-tasking under pressure, from manually loading artillery shells and calibrating distance to extinguishing interior fires while enemy units close in. Communication is heavily stylized through distorted in-game voice chat channels that mimic the deafening roar of treads and motors, turning every match into a high-stakes test of patience and friendship as teammates frantically bark orders at one another.
While the physical periscope used at the convention booth will not make it into the final retail release, the core experience promises a deeply uncompromising cooperative loop. Wrong Organ is building something specifically for players who crave stressful, demanding coordination rather than casual background entertainment. It is a sharp pivot for the studio, and one that is already shaping up to be a standout title for groups looking to test the limits of their digital teamwork.
