Mount & Blade 2 Modders Can Win Part of $32,000 Prize Pool in New TaleWorlds Contest

TaleWorlds is offering over $30,000 in prizes for the Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord War Sails modding competition, challenging creators to build naval expansions, 3D art, and custom scenes.

TaleWorlds Entertainment is offering a massive financial incentive to the modding community behind Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord. As reported by Game Rant, the studio has launched its official War Sails Modding Competition, putting up roughly $32,000 in total prizes. The event arrives on the heels of the War Sails expansion, which brought naval travel and combat to the massive medieval sandbox RPG.

The competition runs from August 14 through November 22 and gives creators plenty of room to showcase their work. The marquee Conversion Mod Contest offers a first place prize of €12,000, which is about $13,900. Entrants do not even need a fully completed mod to enter. TaleWorlds accepts unreleased projects judged on concept and presentation, provided participants upload a public YouTube showcase detailing their plans and features.

Beyond full conversions, the competition features dedicated categories for 3D art and scene design. These tracks challenge artists to build original ships and coastal villages tailored to seaborne raids, with top prizes set at €2,000. With a total prize pool of €30,000 spanning multiple categories and community votes, the event gives talented creators a strong reason to push the limits of the game's new naval systems.
