Monster Hunter Wilds: Arch-Tempered Titans are Here to Stay (Thank the Gods!)

Capcom's heard our cries (and probably seen the rage tweets) and is making Arch-tempered monsters a permanent fixture in Monster Hunter Wilds, letting us get pummeled by super-charged beasts whenever we fancy. Looks like they might make event quests permanent too!

Right, gather 'round, fellow hunters! Word on the street (or, you know, the digital hunting grounds) is that Capcom's actually listening to us for once. Remember those brutal, limited-time Arch-tempered beasties in Monster Hunter Wilds? The ones that made you question every life choice that led you to that point? Well, they're making a comeback... permanently!

According to a recent announcement, starting July 23, 2025, with the "Festival of Accord: Flamefete" event (part of Title Update 2, for you completionists), both Arch-tempered Rey Dau AND the upcoming Arch-tempered Uth Duna will be sticking around. No more frantic, last-minute grinds before they vanish into the digital ether. Finally, we can take our time getting absolutely flattened by them.

For those who missed it, Arch-tempered monsters are basically regular monsters on steroids. Rey Dau, the first of these souped-up terrors, showed up back in April, boasting new attacks and enough speed to make your head spin. But the event only lasted a couple of weeks, leaving many hunters feeling like they missed the party (a very painful, monster-filled party, granted).

But hold on, there's more! Capcom's also hinting at making future event quests permanent as well. "We may make the set of event quests for future Arch-tempered monsters permanent," the official Monster Hunter account posted, "as well as other upcoming event quests. It will reveal more details about this once it has finalized the details of these improvements."

So, what does this all mean? Well, it sounds like Capcom's finally realised that limited-time content, while creating artificial hype, can also leave players feeling left out and frustrated. Making these tough-as-nails fights a permanent fixture gives everyone a chance to tackle them at their own pace. It's a welcome change, even if I reckon I'll still be carted back to camp more often than not.

It's good to see Capcom responding to player feedback and ensuring there is a lot of engaging content to enjoy, especially with the crossover content that has been added such as the Street Fighter event. Fair dinkum to Capcom for taking this feedback into account! Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some serious monster hunting to prepare for. And maybe a stiff drink or two. Or three.
