Modders Are Already Bringing Ariana Grande Into Final Fantasy Resonance

Modders have used the Final Fantasy Resonance demo to bring back legacy guest characters from Brave Exvius, successfully reinstating pop icon Ariana Grande despite developer reservations.

Final Fantasy Resonance does not officially launch until next month, but the creative modding community is already hard at work fixing what they view as a major omission from the demo. As reported by Eurogamer, players have started modding pop superstar Ariana Grande back into the game. Final Fantasy Resonance is an extensive reconstruction of the shuttered mobile title Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, rebuilding the original experience from the ground up.

The new game utilizes a summoning system called Visions, allowing players to call upon classic characters like Cloud and Lightning during combat. However, the initial roster left out many of the more eclectic guest fighters from the original mobile release. Enter the FFR Vision Studio mod, a massive community project that aims to bring nearly 1,300 Brave Exvius units into the new demo. This means players can theoretically summon anyone, including crossover staples from Kingdom Hearts and Nier Automata alongside the pop icon herself.

While producer Keisuke Nakashima previously noted that pop star crossovers did not quite fit the new atmospheric vibe of Resonance, modders clearly disagree. The creator behind the mod is already planning animations, custom skill dictionaries for the imported units, and potential side quests to properly integrate the legacy roster. It is a brilliant reminder of how passionate communities often take digital preservation and curation into their own hands long before official updates arrive.
