Mobile Resident Evil Spin-Off Hits Two Million Downloads in Just Ten Days

Resident Evil: Survival Unit has surpassed two million downloads in its first ten days on mobile platforms, marking a major win for Capcom's portable strategy spin-off.
Capcom's latest mobile foray is pulling in serious numbers. According to a press release from co-developers Aniplex Inc and Joycity Corporation, Resident Evil: Survival Unit has crossed the two million download milestone just ten days after its November 18 launch. The strategic spin-off, built in close collaboration with Capcom, drops players into a parallel world where they wake up as an Umbrella test subject alongside series legends like Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, and Claire Redfield. To celebrate the early momentum, the teams are offering a special in-game reward for players who redeem the code '2m Survivors' on the official site.
This early success stands in sharp contrast to previous mobile platform experiments from Capcom. Back in 2024, native iOS ports of mainline entries like Resident Evil 7 struggled to find an audience, pulling in fewer than two thousand sales despite modest initial download figures for the free trial version. Survival Unit is proving that the mobile audience responds much better to tailored, free-to-start experiences designed specifically for portable play rather than direct console-to-phone conversions.
Looking ahead, the wider Resident Evil community is already gearing up for the next major console and PC release, Resident Evil Requiem, scheduled for February 27. Capcom has been working hard to reassure fans about performance on PC following some rough technical patches for Monster Hunter Wilds earlier this year. In the meantime, mobile players can dive into Survival Unit, which continues to expand its roster with upcoming character drops and datamined additions.
