Minimalist Strategy Hit Thronefall Heads to Xbox Game Pass in November alongside First Major DLC

GrizzlyGames' minimalist strategy hit Thronefall is coming to Xbox Game Pass on November 11 alongside its first major expansion, Craaghelm. The console debut brings tower defense and city-building mechanics directly to subscribers on day one.

Xbox Game Pass is bolstering its strategy catalog next month with the addition of Thronefall. Developed by GrizzlyGames and published by Mythwright, the minimalist strategy hit arrives on Xbox Series X and S on November 11. It will hit Microsoft's subscription service on day one, giving console players an accessible yet deep blend of city-building, tower defense, and resource management.

The launch coincides with the release of the game's very first expansion, titled Craaghelm. While subscribers will get access to the base game as part of their membership, the new DLC will be sold separately. Craaghelm introduces a fresh campaign starring the last Dwarven King, complete with eight thematic maps featuring dynamic hazards like lava streams and moving platforms. It also packs in a suite of new units, weapons, perks, and mechanical enemies.

Thronefall originally built a passionate following during its time in early access before launching its 1.0 version on PC and Nintendo Switch to critical acclaim. Its clean visual style and streamlined mechanics stripped away unnecessary bloat, focusing entirely on daytime economic planning and nighttime combat optimization. For strategy fans on console looking for a quick session between multiplayer matches or streaming marathons, this addition fills a sweet spot in the Game Pass library.
