Build A Rocket Boy is taking MindsEye fully independent after IOI Partners ended its publishing collaboration, resulting in the cancellation of a planned Hitman crossover event.
Build A Rocket Boy is taking full control of MindsEye. According to a report from IGN South Africa, IOI Partners has officially ended its collaboration with the developer, effective March 16, 2026. All publishing rights and responsibilities now sit entirely with Build A Rocket Boy as the studio moves forward on a self-published path for the project.
Along with the split, the planned crossover event between IOI's Hitman series and MindsEye has been officially called off. This structural shift arrives during a turbulent stretch for the development team, following recent reports of layoffs and planned staff protests outside company offices regarding studio management.
For players and the broader community, shifts of this scale during active development always raise questions about timelines and final delivery. As Build A Rocket Boy transitions into managing the release entirely on its own, the studio faces the immediate challenge of stabilizing its internal team and rebuilding player confidence ahead of launch.
