Comedy legend Mel Brooks has revealed the official title for the upcoming Spaceballs sequel, which will be called Spaceballs: The New One.
Comedy icon Mel Brooks is back at it, officially revealing the title for the long awaited Spaceballs sequel. According to IGN South Africa, the upcoming film will unapologetically lean into the classic meta humor of the original by taking on the title Spaceballs: The New One.
For a generation of players and film fans raised on endless cinematic universes and predictable franchise revivals, Brooks is sticking to the self-aware absurdity that made the 1987 sci-fi spoof a timeless cult classic. While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the title alone proves that the production team understands the assignment when it comes to lampooning modern blockbuster culture.
Whether this eventually translates into a surprise tie-in game, cross-promotional in-game events, or simply a great movie night stream with your community, it is a welcome return for a legendary comedy franchise. You can read the original announcement over at IGN South Africa to catch all the initial details.
