Mega Speculation Intensifies: Are Starmie and Scrafty Next in Line for Pokémon Legends: Z-A Glow-Up?

Fans are theorizing that character bios for *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* might be teasing Mega Evolutions for Starmie and Scrafty, thanks to suspicious wristbands and the characters' connection to Team MZ, a group dealing with rogue Mega Pokémon. While it's speculation, the potential for new Mega forms is definitely sparking excitement ahead of the game's release.

Right, so *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* is shaping up to be more than just a return to Lumiose City – it's looking like a full-blown Mega Evolution revival party. And judging by some eagle-eyed fans (bless their perpetually online souls), we might be getting a glimpse at two *more* potential Mega forms.

See, over at Game Rant, J Brodie Shirey picked up on some cracking fan theories swirling around the character bios of Linda and Naveen, two members of the delightfully-named Team MZ. Linda's rocking a Staryu, Naveen's got a Scraggy, and both are sporting wristbands that… well, they look suspiciously like Mega Stones. (Those telltale wristbands!)

Now, Team MZ’s whole deal seems to be wrangling these wild, out-of-control Rogue Mega Pokémon – a bit like digital wildlife control, eh? Given that, and the fact that previous leaks have hinted at Mega Evolutions for Starmie (Staryu’s evolved form) and Scrafty, the fully-evolved Scraggy, it's not a massive leap to reckon Nintendo might be hinting at something here. Shirey reckons that if the earlier forms are playing such a big role, that its possible that the evolved forms might be Mega too.

It's worth remembering that Mega Evolution hasn’t been a core mechanic since Generation 7. But honestly, fair play to Game Freak for bringing it back in *Z-A*. It's always a bit of a punt when they reintroduce old mechanics, but Mega Evolution was always a fan favourite. Mega Dragonite looks brilliant too – it really incorporates the design elements from the earlier evolutions. Good on them for doing that.

Of course, this is all speculation at this point, and we are taking a good look at what the fans are telling us. But let’s be honest, it's the fun kind of speculation, isn’t it? (The one that makes you frantically Google “Starmie Mega Evolution fan art” at 3 AM). There are still loads of Pokémon that haven't had the Mega treatment yet, and Starmie and Scrafty could well be next in line. Imagine a mega Scrafty...now THAT would be wicked.

So, will we be Mega-evolving our way through Lumiose City come October 16th, 2025? Only time will tell. But until then, I'll be keeping my eye on those Team MZ wristbands. And maybe practicing my Mega Evolution pose in the mirror. Just in case.

Massive hat tip to J Brodie Shirey at Game Rant for spotting this potential Mega-sized scoop! It's always fun when the community starts piecing things together.
