Mega Rayquaza is returning to the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game this November in the Delta Reign expansion, which introduces over 135 new cards and innovative Legendary Stadium mechanics.
The Pokémon Company has officially locked in a November 6 release date for the upcoming trading card game expansion, Mega Evolution: Delta Reign. As reported by Polygon, the set marks the first major return of Mega Rayquaza to the physical card game since the XY: Ancient Origins expansion way back in 2015. Collectors and competitive players alike will have over 135 cards to chase, including four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex featuring Rayquaza, Golurk, Malamar, and Golisopod. The set also introduces a creative twist with Legendary Stadiums, which are formed by pairing two separate Stadium cards side by side to create a unified piece of extended artwork.
Beyond the headline-grabbing monsters, Delta Reign leans heavily into physical craftsmanship and digital integration. The set features standout design elements like an embroidered illustration by artist Tayu, alongside fourteen illustration rares and seventeen ultra-rares. For players eager to test the meta early, participating local retailers will host pre-release tournaments starting on October 24. Meanwhile, digital competitors won't have to wait long either, because the expansion arrives on Pokémon TCG Live a day ahead of the physical launch on November 5.
This paper release follows a wave of nostalgia for the franchise's third generation, arriving hot on the heels of the Ruler of the Skies expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket. With continuous community chatter surrounding modern ports for the classic Hoenn generation games, Rayquaza is having a massive year across both digital and physical ecosystems. Whether you are hunting for high-value pull rates in elite trainer boxes or theorycrafting new deck archetypes, Delta Reign is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated drops of the autumn season.
