The Pokémon Company has announced Mega Rayquaza-themed expansions for both the physical TCG and Pokémon TCG Pocket, continuing a massive year for the franchise across tabletop and mobile platforms.
The Pokémon Company just announced a massive rollout for card collectors and digital duelists alike, putting Mega Rayquaza at the center of upcoming expansions for both the physical trading card game and Pokémon TCG Pocket. According to a report by Polygon, the physical expansion titled Mega Evolution, Delta Reigns is scheduled to launch on November 8. Meanwhile, digital players will get their fix even sooner with the Ruler of the Skies pack heading to Pokémon TCG Pocket on July 30, arriving just a few weeks after the game's B3b update.
This double drop highlights how aggressively The Pokémon Company is feeding the eternal hunger of both tabletop collectors and mobile players. The timing is particularly interesting given the absolute chaos surrounding recent physical drops. As Polygon points out, pre-sales for the upcoming Pitch Black set resulted in nine-hour queues and crashed storefronts, illustrating a broader collector frenzy that has recently forced retailers to invent entirely new anti-scalper measures. On the digital side, TCG Pocket continues to refine its cadence, giving mobile players a predictable yet exciting stream of new metas to dissect alongside competitive battle simulators like Pokémon Champions.
Thirty years in, the Pokémon brand is operating at a cultural velocity few franchises ever achieve, bridging physical card binders with mobile apps effortlessly. Whether you are battling digital queues on launch day or trying to secure physical packs without running afoul of scalpers, managing your collection has become a high-stakes hobby. Keep an eye on your regional store updates and digital app notifications as July approaches, because these Mega Rayquaza sets are guaranteed to shake up competitive formats across the board.
