Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is receiving a free DLC update on July 28, adding the classic red-and-blue suit from the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of its July 31 release.
Insomniac Games is keeping the momentum going for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 with a brand new, free DLC drop. Following a fresh trailer for the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sony announced that Peter Parker will be receiving the movie's signature suit in the 2023 open-world hit. The update drops on July 28, just days before the film hits theaters on July 31. Unlike the hybrid tech of previous MCU movie outfits, this new cinematic suit leans into a classic red-and-blue aesthetic complete with visible wrist-mounted mechanical web-shooters.
This addition continues Insomniac's strong track record of supporting the game with cross-promotional film gear. Players who still roam the streets of New York as Peter and Miles can already access a massive wardrobe spanning Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland's previous cinematic appearances. While the studio has kept quiet on formal plans for a threequel or a standalone Venom spinoff, the team's attention is largely fixed on their next major Marvel project, with Marvel's Wolverine scheduled to launch on September 15.
For a game that originally launched three years ago, this ongoing cosmetic support is a great way to keep the community engaged while players wait for Insomniac's next big release. It is a simple, player-friendly update that bridges the gap between the silver screen and the console experience. You can read the original reporting over at Polygon.
