Marvel Tokon PS5 Players Are Disabling Crossplay to Escape PC Performance Issues

PlayStation 5 players of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls are turning off crossplay to avoid performance issues and lag originating from the struggling PC version of the game.

Arc System Works launched Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls with massive momentum, driven by exciting character reveals like Deadpool and Magneto, but the PC version has hit a rough patch. Following a beta phase that raised several red flags, the game dropped on Steam to a mixed review reception due to persistent performance issues and stuttering. Even though a Day One patch addressed input lag and CPU load, the PC port clearly needs more stabilization work from the development team.

Because the game features full crossplay between platforms, these technical hiccups are bleeding over into matches for console users. PlayStation 5 players are finding that playing against PC opponents exposes them to desyncs, lag spikes, and unstable match pacing. To protect the integrity of their ranked and casual sessions, the console community has started taking matters into their own hands by simply turning off crossplay entirely in the settings menu.

While disabling crossplay is far from an ideal solution since it shrinks the active matchmaking pool, it highlights how quickly technical performance can fracture a community. For now, PS5 fighters are choosing smoother matches over broader matchmaking queues while they wait for Arc System Works to roll out deeper performance patches for the PC release.
