Marvel Rivals Season 3: UI Gets a Facelift and Smurfs Get the Side-Eye – Good Show, NetEase!

NetEase's Marvel Rivals Season 3 brings UI improvements for mission tracking and starts cracking down on smurfing, while players still clamor for more diverse hero roles.

Right, so Marvel Rivals, that hero shooter that's got everyone and their nan trying to figure out the best team comp, just dropped Season 3. And it seems NetEase is actually listening to the players (bloody hell, who'd have thunk it?). According to a recent report by Game Rant, Season 3 is bringing some pretty nifty UI changes, plus they're cracking down on those pesky smurfs.

First up, the UI. You know that feeling when you're grinding away at missions and you've got absolutely no clue how far you've come? Yeah, NetEase apparently heard our collective groans. Now, at the end of a match, the game actually *shows* you your progress toward completing challenges, seasonal missions, and events like the Milano Repair Logs. Not only that, but it also highlights which rewards are now available, or are just around the corner. A welcome change, I reckon, and should keep everyone on track without having to alt-tab every five minutes to check.

But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Some players are still moaning about the roster imbalance. Apparently, there's a distinct lack of Vanguards and Strategists compared to the overwhelming hordes of Duelists. It's a fair point; variety is the spice of life, after all. Hopefully, NetEase will address this in Seasons 4 and 5. More tanks and support heroes? Yes, please!

Now, onto the smurfs. We all hate 'em, right? Those experienced players creating new accounts to stomp on newbies. Well, NetEase is apparently getting serious about tackling this scourge. They've implemented a new system that flags suspicious accounts and issues warnings. While the exact consequences of ignoring the warning remain shrouded in mystery (suspensions? Bans? Public shaming?), it's a step in the right direction. Hopefully, this will help create a fairer playing field for everyone.

And let's not forget the roadmap. Season 3.5 is dropping on August 8th, bringing with it the long-awaited Blade, who has been stuck in Dracula's dungeon since Season 1. So, all in all, it's looking like a pretty solid update for Marvel Rivals. NetEase seems to be listening to the community, addressing some key issues, and adding some much-needed quality-of-life improvements. Time to dust off the controller and dive back in, I reckon.
