NetEase Games is expanding the cosmetic lineup for Marvel Rivals with a fresh batch of alternate looks. A newly released trailer from IGN South Africa showcases the Creed of Akabba costume set, giving both The Punisher and everyone's favorite aquatic companion, Jeff the Land Shark, a striking new visual overhaul. The game continues to lean into distinct thematic variants as it prepares for its broader rollout across platforms, keeping the community talking about how their mains will look on the battlefield.
For a free-to-play hero shooter, maintaining player engagement relies heavily on how developers handle character customization and seasonal drops. The Creed of Akabba theme pulls from deep Marvel lore, offering a darker and more esoteric aesthetic than the standard default designs. It is a smart move by NetEase to keep digital wardrobes fresh, ensuring that collectors and fans have distinct ways to personalize their favorite heroes and anti-heroes.
As anticipation builds around Marvel Rivals and its live-service ecosystem, these costume reveals give us a clearer picture of how the title plans to handle post-launch monetization and seasonal content. Players are always looking for cosmetic value that stands out in a crowded lobby, and blending deep-cut comic references with popular characters is a proven way to drive engagement. You can check out the full costume trailer over at IGN South Africa to see how these designs translate in-game.
