Polygon has shared an exclusive look at an upcoming Marvel and DC crossover backup story pairing Ghost-Spider and Supergirl, arriving in the Spider-Man/Superman one-shot on April 22.
The massive publishing partnership between Marvel and DC continues to roll forward, offering fans unexpected pairings beyond the core hero rosters. Following last year's collaborations featuring Batman and Deadpool, the upcoming Superman/Spider-Man #1 brings together even more icons from both universes. According to an exclusive report by Polygon, the upcoming one-shot features a special backup story pairing Ghost-Spider and Supergirl for a high-stakes encounter against the classic animated villain Livewire.
This crossover event leans heavily into creative talent pairings that excite longtime comic readers and modern fans alike. Writer Stephanie Phillips and artist Phil Noto are leading the Ghost-Spider and Supergirl adventure, while other segments of the book feature heavyweights like Brian Michael Bendis reuniting with Sara Pichelli for a Miles Morales and Superman story. Meanwhile, Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman are bringing Mighty Thor and Wonder Woman together to fend off a symbiote invasion in Metropolis.
For players and pop culture fans who track digital entertainment franchises and cross-media storytelling, these massive publisher crossovers highlight how valuable major character synergy remains today. The full one-shot hits comic shops on April 22, giving collectors and modern fans plenty of reasons to add it to their pull lists.
