Marvel Comics has announced X-Orcists, a new five-issue limited series starring the mutant favorite Magik, set for release on November 18.
Illyana Rasputin is having a massive cultural moment. After years of operating in the background, the mutant sorceress has cemented her status as a fan favorite through standout appearances in major video games, crucial comic storylines, and broader media adaptations. That momentum is showing no signs of slowing down as Marvel Comics has officially announced a brand-new five-issue limited series titled X-Orcists, placing the character right at the forefront once again.
The upcoming book reunites the creative team behind previous solo runs, with writer Ashley Allen and artist Germán Peralta taking the helm for their third consecutive Illyana-focused project following 2025's Magik and earlier work this year. Allen expressed excitement about continuing the journey with the core creative unit and delivering a story tailored for the character's dedicated fanbase. Issue number one is scheduled to hit shelves on November 18.
For players and comic readers who track character trajectories across both gaming and print, Magik's rise highlights how modern transmedia success can revitalize cult favorites. As cross-media synergy becomes the baseline for major entertainment franchises, seeing a character break out through interactive spaces and translate that energy into fresh comic runs offers a blueprint for how modern fandoms thrive.
