Magic: The Gathering is heading back to its signature academic setting next month with Secrets of Strixhaven, marking the first major return to the campus since its 2021 debut. Wizards of the Coast is rolling out traditional booster packs alongside five prebuilt Commander decks, and IGN South Africa recently debuted an exclusive first look at the complete card list for the blue-red Prismari Artistry deck. The reveal highlights a mix of brand-new cards and classic reprints featuring updated artwork, giving players a clear picture of what to expect from the upcoming release.
The preview also includes insights from Senior Game Designer Daniel Holt, detailing the design philosophy and strategic choices behind building the deck. For collectors and Commander regulars alike, prebuilt options like Prismari Artistry offer an accessible entry point into a new set without needing to crack endless packs. These themed lists help shape the metagame right out of the box while providing plenty of room for customization.
As digital and physical card economies continue to evolve, reliable day-one reveals help the community evaluate power levels and plan deck upgrades early.
