The upcoming Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes crossover set features an Avengers Assemble Commander deck packed with high-value reprints like Kindred Discovery and crucial mana base upgrades.
The preview season for Magic: The Gathering and its upcoming Marvel Super Heroes crossover set is winding down, and Wizards of the Coast is saving some of the best reveals for last. According to a recent breakdown from The Command Zone podcast, the preconstructed Avengers Assemble Commander deck is bringing serious value that easily justifies its asking price. The deck features 32 brand-new cards alongside a handful of heavy-hitting reprints, anchored by commanders Captain America, Team Leader and Director Nick Fury. The overall strategy focuses heavily on assembling an army of legendary hero creatures and backing them up with equipment and counters, offering a streamlined path to victory for anyone who loves typal strategies.
The standout inclusion in the package is a brand-new printing of Kindred Discovery, as reported by Polygon. This five-cost blue enchantment is an absolute staple for any blue typal deck, letting players draw a card whenever a creature of a chosen type enters the battlefield or attacks. Market prices for existing versions of Kindred Discovery typically range from thirteen dollars to nearly a hundred dollars depending on the printing, making this reprint a massive win for players looking to upgrade their collections without breaking the bank. The new Marvel art, illustrated by Stephanie Hans, depicts iconic Avenger pairings like Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel, making it a strong thematic fit for a deck centered around heroism.
Beyond Kindred Discovery, the deck also packs crucial upgrades for the mana base to keep a three-color strategy running smoothly. Players will find valuable lands like Spectator Seating, Plaza of Heroes, and Scorched Geyser included in the package, addressing the usual budget hurdles of building multi-color Commander decks. By combining high-value reprints with a deeply requested crossover theme, Wizards of the Coast is delivering a preconstructed product that actually respects the player wallet.
