Loki's Ditching the Asgardian Armor for a Spa Day in Marvel Rivals – And Wolverine's Getting a Time Out!

Marvel Rivals is dropping some summer heat with a Loki skin that’s more spa day than scheming, while also nerfing Wolverine because he's apparently been a right menace. Expect swimsuits, balance tweaks, and general superhero shenanigans.

Right, so NetEase Games is chucking a beach party into Marvel Rivals, and apparently, even trickster gods need a bit of R&R. We’re talking about Loki, mate, trading his usual getup for a "Robe of Relaxation." I reckon he's finally figured out that ruling (or ruining) realms is knackering work. Game Rant got the first peek at the gameplay, and fair dinkum, it's a sight to behold.

The Robe of Relaxation skin drops on July 17th (that's 7 PM PDT for you Yanks), and it's sticking around until August 14th. So, if you fancy seeing Loki looking like he's about to hit the sauna instead of stirring up mischief, you better get your skates on. Think green cloak, gold accents, and a hat that screams, "I'm on holiday, leave me alone!"

But that's not all, is it? Oh no. Seems like Wolverine's been a bit of a naughty boy, causing chaos in Season 3 with his team-up abilities. Word on the street is he's been completely unbalanced, leaving Vanguard players proper frustrated. So, NetEase is giving him a bit of a nerf – reducing his damage and life steal. Serves him right for hogging all the glory, eh?

And Psylocke’s getting in on the summer fun, too, with a “Breezy Butterfly” swimsuit skin. Plus, there are rumblings of even MORE swimsuit-themed skins for Thor, The Thing, and Luna Snow as part of the "Summer Special" event on July 17th. Thor's even getting a free skin – Worthy Waves, apparently. Sounds like someone's been hitting the gym...beach.

Basically, Marvel Rivals is about to get a whole lot more…sunburnt? I'm not sure how I feel about superheroes hitting the beach, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Maybe a relaxing Loki is exactly what we need to balance out all that Wolverine-induced rage. Either way, it’s something to keep an eye on. But what do you lot reckon – are you ready for beach-ready superheroes? Or is this going too far?
