Life is Strange fans looking to dive deeper into the franchise have a brand-new story to explore. Titan Books has officially released Life is Strange: Out of Focus, a 256-page prequel novel written by Rosiee Thor. The book shifts focus away from the supernatural mysteries and heavy trauma of Arcadia Bay, placing Chloe Price in a very different phase of her life alongside character Izzie Margolis as members of the band Drugstore Makeup.
The narrative follows the duo as they hit the road on tour, attempting to record new music and keep their creative ambitions alive. While the setting is grounded in the day-to-day pressures of touring, the novel also ties directly into the wider franchise lore by bridging connections to the events and dreams featured in Life is Strange: Reunion, as well as referencing earlier entries like Before the Storm.
For a community that has spent years unpacking the complex choices, branching paths, and emotional fallout of Chloe and Max's journeys, this expanded fiction offers another layer of character depth. Priced at $18.99 for the paperback edition, the novel gives players across console, PC, and mobile reading apps a fresh excuse to spend more time with one of the series' most enduring figures.
