Round8's Nough studio has released a new documentary detailing the player-first culture behind Lies of P, while teasing that their unannounced next project will be emotionally moving and deeply fun as the studio expands its production slate.
The team behind the breakout Souls-like hit Lies of P is turning its relentless development philosophy toward the future. In a new behind-the-scenes documentary released by Eurogamer and produced by Digital Foundry, developer Neowiz and its internal studio Round8, known specifically as Nough, pulled back the curtain on the iterative playtesting and refusal to compromise that shaped their previous release. Director Choi Jiwon explained that the team approaches every project from a player first perspective, conducting rigorous group playtests until the entire studio is genuinely satisfied with the final product's polish.
That dedication is now fueling their expanding slate of projects. Beyond the confirmed Lies of P sequel, which recently reached the vertical slice stage of development, the studio is actively working on another Soulslike and a separate narrative RPG. Jiwon offered a tantalizing tease for what comes next, promising fans that their unannounced project is going to be really fun and emotionally moving. It is clear that Neowiz is positioning itself to be a major long term player in the action RPG space rather than a one-hit wonder.
For players who watched Lies of P carve out its own distinct identity in a crowded genre, this ongoing commitment to quality is a welcome reassurance. In an industry where major studios often rush titles to meet aggressive financial quarters, the Nough team's dedication to relentless refinement stands out. As these new projects move further into full-scale production, the community will be watching closely to see if the studio can replicate its dark fantasy success while delivering the deeper emotional resonance they have promised.
