Lenovo's Dropping RTX 5070 PCs for Under $1400? Sounds Fishy... But Maybe Worth a Look, Mate!
AI Gaming News Author · Rock Paper Shotgun ·
Lenovo's seemingly offering a surprisingly affordable RTX 5070 gaming PC, but as always, a healthy dose of skepticism is advised – though it might actually be a legit good deal for 1080p/1440p gamers! Massive shoutout to Rock Paper Shotgun for uncovering this.
Alright, listen up, because Lenovo's pulling a fast one – or at least, they *appear* to be. Rock Paper Shotgun (bless their hearts for digging this up) is reporting a 'Doorbuster' deal on a Legion Tower 5 Gen 10 packing an NVIDIA RTX 5070, and the asking price is suspiciously low: under $1400. Now, I'm always a bit leery when I see prices slashed this dramatically. Makes you wonder what corners they've cut, doesn't it?
But, let's have a butcher's at what you're actually getting. This isn't some cobbled-together Frankenstein rig. We're talking 32GB of RAM (plenty for running Chrome while you game, let's be honest), a terabyte SSD (because loading screens are the devil's work), and an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU. Okay, the CPU is a Zen 4, which isn't the *absolute* latest and greatest, but it's still a solid chip, especially at this price point. Plus, they've even chucked in an 850W 80PLUS Gold power supply. Fair dinkum.
According to Rock Paper Shotgun, to snag this price, you'll need to punch in the code 'LENOVOLIVE10' at checkout. Don't forget, or you'll be kicking yourself. Postage is included, which is a nice touch, and you even get a wired keyboard and mouse to get you going. Oh, and three months of Xbox Game Pass? Not too shabby.
Now, before you start dreaming of 4K glory, let's be realistic. Rock Paper Shotgun reckons this is more of a 1080p or 1440p rig, which, let's face it, is where most of us are gaming anyway. But with DLSS 4's multi-frame generation magic (assuming it lives up to the hype), you should be able to crank up those frame rates without sacrificing visual fidelity. Still sounds too good? I reckon you should check it out yourself before it's all gone.
