LEGO has officially announced a new Donkey Kong Arcade set with pre-orders open now ahead of an August 1 release date, bringing a classic piece of gaming history to the ongoing Nintendo brick lineup.
Nintendo and LEGO are expanding their ongoing collaboration with a brand-new release that finally celebrates gaming history. LEGO has officially pulled back the curtain on its new Donkey Kong Arcade set, giving fans a direct homage to the character's legendary roots rather than just another modern spin-off. Pre-orders are live right now, though collectors looking to secure a box ahead of the August 1 release date will likely want to move quickly before initial stock runs out.
While the broader Super Mario partnership regularly sees annual refreshes, dedicated sets honoring Mario's earliest rivals have been surprisingly rare. Previous Mario Kart releases featured the iconic ape, but this new arcade-themed build specifically targets the classic era of gaming legacy that started it all. The timing also coincides with a massive wave of Nintendo-themed LEGO drops arriving on August 1, including new Animal Crossing sets and a heavy lineup of Pokémon merchandise.
For collectors and gaming enthusiasts who love physical displays of gaming history, this release sits alongside a growing market of nostalgic hardware builds. As digital ownership continues to dominate modern gaming ecosystems, physical crossover merchandise remains a massive part of how communities celebrate their favorite franchises.
