Lego Expands Pokémon Collaboration With Munchlax, Rayquaza, and Trainer-Focused Sets

Lego and The Pokémon Company have announced five new building sets featuring Munchlax, Arcanine, Rayquaza, and trainer-focused builds, with releases slated for August and October 2026.

The collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Lego is expanding quickly, following up on an initial wave that launched earlier this year. Polygon reports that Lego has revealed five new sets coming to shelves over the next few months, bringing fan-favorite creatures like Munchlax, Arcanine, and the legendary dragon Rayquaza into brick form. Three of these upcoming sets drop on August 1, arriving alongside the recently announced Smart Play tech line, while the remaining two follow on October 1.

Collector attention will likely gravitate toward the Rayquaza set, which captures the green dragon soaring above the Sky Pillar and includes a minifigure of Lorekeeper Zinnia. This inclusion is a notable shift for the partnership. Designers previously stated that early sets omitted minifigures to keep children in the role of the Trainer, but the new lineup leans hard into human characters. That pivot peaks with the massive Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball, a 2,339-piece display piece priced at $299.99 that features minifigures of Professor Oak, a Picnicker, and Red, alongside Pikachu and Eevee. Trainer Red is also getting his own dedicated, nearly foot-tall build.

For cross-platform fans and collectors who treat their display shelves as an extension of their gaming spaces, these physical crossovers continue to hit the right nostalgic notes. As Pokémon celebrates its milestone 30th anniversary, the partnership bridges the gap between classic childhood memories and modern adult display culture.
