Game of Thrones star Kit Harington recently shared his excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6, highlighting the massive cultural reach of Rockstar's upcoming release.
Kit Harington, best known for playing Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, recently revealed that he is eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. During a conversation with Josh Horowitz, the actor admitted that he is not a heavy gamer and mostly remembers playing casual titles like Mario Kart and Tekken. Despite his limited background with the medium, even appearing in games like Call of Duty and Telltale's Game of Thrones adaptation, the sheer marketing scale and viral video content surrounding Rockstar's upcoming open-world epic have caught his attention.
Harington is far from alone in feeling the cultural pull of Vice City. Recent reports indicate that pre-order milestones shattered expectations within hours of launching, pointing to a historic launch that will likely eclipse previous entertainment records. Analysts are even projecting massive economic productivity dips as millions of players plan to take time off work at launch. Hardware markets are already reacting to the frenzy as well, with third-party prices for current-generation consoles spiking in anticipation.
While console players are preparing their setups for launch day, the broader community continues to wait for definitive word on a PC release date. That staggered rollout guarantees a second massive wave of sales and online engagement down the line. As hype reaches critical mass, the industry is bracing for a title that transcends traditional gaming circles to become a dominant global pop culture event.
As reported by GameRant, this crossover appeal highlights just how deeply integrated gaming has become in modern entertainment. Whether you are tracking hardware upgrades or just waiting to see how the revamped police and wanted systems play out, the countdown to launch is shaping up to be the biggest industry moment in years.
