A dedicated modding team has launched an early experimental multiplayer mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, allowing players to test basic co-op functionality via GitHub.
Warhorse Studios built a deeply immersive, strictly singleplayer medieval sandbox with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but a dedicated group of community creators is already working to change that. As originally reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, a Polish modder known online as Michal has kicked off development on a multiplayer mod for the massive RPG. The project has moved quickly since its initial announcement, evolving into a basic framework that allows two players to connect to a shared server and render each other within the game world.
While the current build still treats players as synchronized NPC ghosts, recent updates show rapid technical progress. The latest revisions allow these avatars to cast shadows and equip proper weapons and armor. The team has already published an experimental version on GitHub alongside a dedicated Discord community for testing and feedback. To try it out, players will need a legitimate copy of the game and the official modding tools recently released on Steam.
Ambitious long-term goals for the project include full PvP functionality and custom roleplaying servers, though the creators and community alike acknowledge the massive hurdles ahead. Turning a proof of concept into a stable framework that can handle hours of uninterrupted gameplay is notoriously difficult for open world RPGs. Still, these early steps prove that the community is eager to experience feudal Europe with friends, and we will be watching closely to see how the project evolves.
