King of the Hill's Back, Mate! New Season Trailer Drops – But Hold On, There's a Khan-Sized Change...

King of the Hill is making a comeback after all these years, but with a slight twist: Ronny Chieng is taking over the voice of Khan. Will it work? We'll have to wait and see, but the new season promises a return to Arlen with a few modern updates.

Crikey, who had 'King of the Hill revival' on their 2025 bingo card? Certainly not me, but here we are. IGN South Africa dropped the news (big thanks to Lex Briscuso over there!) that Season 14 of the propane-lovin' animated classic is comin' at us thick and fast. And fair dinkum, it looks… different. In a good way, maybe?

Now, before you start yellin' about reboots ruining everything, take a look at the trailer. It seems like Hank, Peggy, and the gang are back in Arlen after a stint in Saudi Arabia (earning that sweet, sweet retirement dosh, apparently). Bobby's a chef in Dallas, living the dream. But what about Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill? What kinda shenanigans are they gettin' up to?

(You can check out the trailer and poster on the Disney+ Canada Twitter, which, honestly, is a bit of a niche location for such a huge announcement. Still, appreciate the commitment to the maple leaf, eh?)

The official word is: "After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his 20s with his former classmates Connie, Joseph and Chane."

But here's the kicker: Ronny Chieng is taking over the role of Khan Souphanousinphone. That's right, Toby Huss (the voice of Dale Gribble himself) is passin' the mic. Now, I'm a bit torn. Huss is a legend, but Chieng's got some serious comedic chops. Reckon he'll bring a fresh perspective to the character? It's a gamble, but I'm cautiously optimistic. It could be bloody brilliant, or it could be a bit… off.

The rest of the original voice cast – Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss – are all returning, so at least we've got that solid foundation. Plus, original creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are back as executive producers, along with Saladin Patterson (who's also showrunner now).

So, August 4th is the date to mark in your calendars. King of the Hill Season 14 hits Hulu and Disney+. Are we ready for seconds? Well, I suppose we'll find out soon enough. Let's hope they haven't messed with the secret sauce too much.
