Keanu Reeves and author China Miéville are teaming up with artist Alessio Avalone for BRZRKR: Light Draws Breath, a new Bronze Age-set comic spinoff exploring the origins of the immortal warrior B, as originally reported by IGN South Africa.
The universe of Keanu Reeves and his immortal warrior B is expanding once more. According to an exclusive report by IGN South Africa, Reeves is reuniting with acclaimed author China Miéville for a brand new comic spinoff titled BRZRKR: Light Draws Breath. This upcoming one-shot marks an exciting creative milestone since it is the first time Miéville has co-written a comic outside of DC, following his previous work on the 2024 prose spinoff novel The Story of Elsewhere.
The project pulls together a powerhouse creative team alongside Reeves and Miéville. Artist Alessio Avalone is handling the interior work, while the main cover comes courtesy of Esad Ribic. Fans and collectors will also have several variant covers to hunt down, featuring contributions from Ronald Wimberly, David Lafuente, Dillon Snook, and Sweeny Boo.
Set during the Bronze Age, the narrative delves deeper into the origins and mythology of the hyper-violent universe that fans have followed across comics and digital platforms. The plot kicks off when B temporarily dies and rogue scientists harvest a piece of his protoplasmic body. The resulting creation is left to navigate its own identity and purpose in a brutal ancient world. It is another strong expansion for an IP that continues to bridge traditional media, graphic storytelling, and heavy cross-media ambition.
