Jurassic World Evolution 3: Hold on to Your Hats, We're Going on a Dinosaur Safari!

Frontier just dropped a new park tour trailer for Jurassic World Evolution 3, showing off new environments and dinos, leaving us cautiously optimistic about whether they'll fix the escape issues and resource management.

Right, so Frontier Developments has dropped a brand-new park tour trailer for Jurassic World Evolution 3, and fair dinkum, it's got me feeling a mix of 'ooh, shiny!' and 'wait, is that ethically sound?' Because, let's face it, managing a dinosaur theme park is basically a recipe for disaster – albeit a visually stunning one.

The trailer, courtesy of IGN South Africa (cheers, mates!), gives us a proper glimpse at some of the new features and environments we can expect. We're talking lush jungles, snow-capped mountains, and even desert landscapes. It's like they raided every biome on Earth and chucked a T-Rex in it. But what does this mean for gameplay? Well, it seems Frontier is doubling down on giving us more control over park design and dinosaur behavior. Think deeper customization options, more realistic dinosaur interactions, and even the ability to create truly unique ecosystems. Which, of course, will inevitably lead to a raptor breakout at some point. (We've all been there, haven't we?)

One of the things that's got me most intrigued is the expanded roster of dinosaurs. We're not just talking about the usual suspects like the Triceratops and Velociraptor (although, let's be honest, who doesn't love a good Velociraptor?). It looks like we'll be getting some seriously obscure and downright terrifying creatures. (Dilophosaurus making a comeback? Here's hoping!)

But here's the thing: while the trailer is all sunshine and genetically engineered dinosaurs, it does raise a few questions. Will the AI be improved so the dinosaurs aren’t constantly trying to escape? (Please, for the love of all that is prehistoric, fix the escape routines!). Will resource management be more nuanced, or will we still be drowning in dinosaur poop? And, perhaps most importantly, will Jeff Goldblum make an appearance? (Because, let's face it, it's not a Jurassic Park game without a healthy dose of Goldblumian wisdom.)

Ultimately, Jurassic World Evolution 3 looks like a significant step up from its predecessors. It's promising more depth, more customization, and more dinosaurs than ever before. But whether it can truly deliver on that promise remains to be seen. Colour me cautiously optimistic, then. Still, I reckon it will make a splash when it arrives. In the meantime, I'm going to go back to playing the original, but this time I'm building a petting zoo full of Compsognathus. Because why not?

(And yes, I know I mentioned Jeff Goldblum a lot. But come on, it's Jeff Goldblum! What are you gonna do?)
