Marvel has released the first trailer for The Punisher: One Last Kill, an upcoming Disney Plus special starring Jon Bernthal that leads into his crossover appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Frank Castle is stepping back into the spotlight for a massive year in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has officially dropped the first trailer for The Punisher: One Last Kill, a gritty Disney Plus television special arriving on May 12. Jon Bernthal is back in the tactical vest, bringing his uncompromising portrayal of the vigilante to a story that finds a struggling Frank hunting for purpose on the brutal streets of New York before an unexpected force pulls him back into the endless cycle of violence. Alongside Bernthal, Jason R. Moore returns as fan favorite Curtis Hoyle, giving longtime fans a strong anchor to the character's previous streaming era.
This standalone special acts as essential runway for a much larger crossover later this summer. Bernthal is slated to appear alongside the webhead himself in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hits theaters on July 31. The juxtaposition of Marvel's most grounded, lethal street fighter sharing space with a marquee cinematic icon has fans speculating on how the tone will balance out. For now, the trailer leans heavily into the R-rated energy audiences expect, complete with brutal close-quarters combat and unrelenting action that promises Marvel is not softening the character for his streaming return.
Projects like this show how transmedia strategies continue to shape modern entertainment consumption. Whether you are following every cinematic universe thread on Disney Plus, keeping up with creator breakdowns on YouTube, or discussing casting leaks on social media, Marvel remains a masterclass in sustaining long-term viewer engagement. As reported by Polygon, you can stream The Punisher: One Last Kill on Disney Plus starting May 12 before the character leaps to the big screen in July.
